  • STUDENT SUPPLY LIST
    • Cardboard box – larger than a shoe box but not bigger than 16”x20”
    • 3 pack panel inexpensive canvas, 9”x12”
    • 1 real canvas 9”x12”, 11”x14” or 12”x16” artist's choice, oil primed linen is the best Centurian has an a?ordable choice
    • Traditional oil paints (NOT water-soluble) – Gamblin is a good value brand, then Winsor- Newton, Michael Harding, Rembrandt, Sennelier, and Old Holland are pricier. You can mix and match as you ?nd ones you like. Smallest amounts are all you need for this class (37ml). Colors: Ivory Black, Titanium White, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow or lemon, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Umber, Alizarine Crimson, Yellow Ochre
    • Palette of your choice. I prefer a wooden oval style that’s easy to hold while standing or glass palette in a sealable box is nice for workshops. There are a lot of options. If you are new to oils just get the one on my Jerry’s class list
    • “Brush washing” can or large ~16 oz glass jar with good ?tting lid for Gamsol 2 small baby food jars with lids for linseed oil / medium
    • Odorless Mineral Spirits “Gamsol” - if you don’t want to buy a big jug, bring $4 to class and I will pour some in your jar
    • Small amount of Linseed oil - same as above bring $2 Pale^e knife - I like a 3” straight blade
    • 7 paint brushes of various sizes – di?erent brands have di?erent sizes; bring one the width of your thumb, a couple the width of your pinky, one-liner size 0 for detail work, and a few in between all these. Natural or Synthetic bristles work. Do not spend a lot on brushes.
    • Plastic grocery bag
    • Optional: disposable Latex gloves - I paint in them, but not everyone does. Paper towels are provided but if you like a particular brand bring your own
