Spend a fun couple of hours learning something new, meeting new friends, and creating a lovely piece of jewelry to take home! No experience necessary. This evening’s project is a unique pair of beaded earrings... or create a single one for a pendant. You’ll learn a stitch similar to right angle weave while you make a pendant or a pair of earrings using colorful tiny beads. All materials are included in the fee.
(Consider taking the Saturday morning Beaded Sphere Pendant Workshop offered November 7th also! You'll learn related techniques and end up with a beautiful selection of hand-crafted jewelry!)
Karpagam Palaniappan
Karpagam Palaniappan (Car-puh-gum Puh-luh-ni-up-pun) is a bead artist and mechanical engineer who learned the craft from her mother, continuing a family tradition passed down through generations. Beading helped her develop spatial reasoning skills and sparked her interest in math, science, and led her to engineering. Her work merges these disciplines in kinetic mobile earrings, created primarily with second-hand beads and tools—reflecting her deep commitment to sustainability and resourcefulness.
