Based on the Filipino concept of Kapwa, this 4 session painting course involves abstracting and embodying our favorite aspects of life through experimental studies, canvas building, and utilizing the minds of our painting community. Through guided studio exercises, reflective observation, and intuitive mark-making, participants will cultivate a deeper awareness of the relationship between body, perception, and artistic expression. Participants will explore their own way of expanding their most simple joys into the complex beauty between the felt and the unseen. Throughout the transformations of our works, we will share our observations, build off our small community, and use those connections to inform our personal dialogues with the paint.
