Watercolor: Color Theory and Shading

A beginner friendly exploration of color theory and shading applied to watercolor painting. Learn to create deeper, more natural looking shadows by layering complementary colors onto your watercolor creation. Students will work with developing a color wheel, layer complementary colors to explore different neutrals. Finally stduents will translate their learning into a finished a fruit and vegetable study. All supplies included. Ages 14 and up.
Diana Kalajdzic
Diana is an Ecuadorian-American artist based in North Carolina. She holds a BA in Studio Art and Design from Salem College, where she first developed and cemented her signature artistic style. Working primarily in watercolor and digital mediums, she also relies on sketching and writing whenever inspiration strikes.
Born and raised in Ecuador, Diana’s work deeply reflects her relationship with her heritage, drawing inspiration from the rich natural beauty of her homeland. Her art weaves together magical landscapes and fantasy elements while exploring profound themes of life, death, natural cycles, and energy. Diana lives in Clemmons, North Carolina, with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Coco Bean.
