Our Taste of Art Workshops welcome students of all skill levels to the wood studio for a series of projects that you can make and take home with you that very evening. Tonight's project: Cutting boards! Choose your board from an assortment of colorful woods and learn to safely use the tools of the wood studio to bring your design to life! This workshop will cover the use of the bandsaw, drill press, router table and various hand tools. No experience necessary.

Additional Information:

  • This class is open to students ages 18 and up. Participants 16 - 17 are welcome when registered with a parent or guardian.
  • A material fee of $10 will be added at checkout.

Sassa, Osamu
Osamu Sassa

Osamu Sassa, a designer/maker originally from Rockland, Maine, will be the 2026/2027 Gondring Resident in Woodworking. Following a 20+ year career in architecture, Osamu or “Sam” turned his design focus to woodworking as a graduate of the Nine-month Comprehensive at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship(CFC) in Rockport, Maine, and later served as teaching assistant and co-instructor in product design for the same program.
