Photographing the County Fair: Daytime Photo Walk

Step into the color, movement, and character of the county fair during the day in this hands-on photography workshop in Winston-Salem. In this one-week class, students will meet for a three-hour photo walk at the fair and practice photographing the lively atmosphere of rides, games, food stands, animals, performers, families, and fairgoers.

Daytime at the fair offers a rich opportunity to explore storytelling, composition, color, gesture, and candid street photography in a bright, active public setting. Students will learn how to use available light creatively, work with changing backgrounds, anticipate moments, and create strong images in a fast-moving environment.

This workshop will include live demonstrations, guided shooting exercises, and individual support throughout the photo walk. Students will practice techniques for capturing authentic moments, building visual narratives, and using the fair’s vibrant colors and textures to create engaging photographs.
