Class - Digital Art | Available

Step into the vibrant world of digital collage in this exciting project-based workshop designed for beginning to intermediate students eager to explore contemporary digital art techniques. Through instructor demonstrations, creative discussion, and hands-on experimentation, students will deconstruct original works by artist Kim Thoré to better understand layering, texture, composition, abstraction, and visual storytelling in the digital space.

  • This workshop also introduces students to the evolving role of artificial intelligence in creative practice, exploring how artists can thoughtfully, ethically, and responsibly incorporate A.I.-powered tools into their workflow as creative collaborators rather than replacements for artistic vision. Students will learn how emerging technologies can spark inspiration, generate textures and concepts, and expand creative possibilities while still maintaining authenticity and personal artistic voice.

Absorbing aspects of Kim’s flexible and intuitive artistic process, students will discover that digital collage has virtually no boundaries—it can blend photography, painting, illustration, typography, mixed media, and experimental effects into entirely original artwork. Using programs such as PicMonkey, LunaPic, Prisma, NightCafe, GoArt, and select Procreate tools, students will explore a wide range of techniques while creating their own finished digital collage piece to share online or print at home.

Students are encouraged to bring personal photographs as inspiration and source material for their artwork. Both classes will be held in person at Sawtooth School.

    Ages: 16–Adult
