Create Your One-of-a-kind Paper Stash
Art + Wellness | Available
Join in on the fun! We will try out various easy techniques to make beautiful collage papers. Spend a couple of hours making your own designs using ordinary materials. For instance, don't lose your marbles because we will be using them to make marks. Messy handwriting? No worries, it finally comes in handy. And speaking of handy, we will let our fingers make prints (gloves available). There will be masking up (using tape) and lifting off (more tape). And if we want, recycle, reuse, share, swap and trade. Papers can also be used to make cards, wrapping paper. All supplies included. Ages 16 and up.
Elizabeth McEntee
Liz McEntee is an artist, writer, teacher and student. From the time she could grip a crayon she has been using color, pattern and narrative to express herself. As a young adult, she studied Fiber Arts at Philadelphia College of Art. She later had the good fortune to attend State University of NY at Purchase and graduate with honors earning a BFA. She meandered through various adventures, eventually finding herself in North Carolina. After retiring, she began teaching art on Zoom. In her spare time, she wrote and illustrated her first book Art Heals. About teaching at Sawtooth, she says "The impulse to express ourselves and to create beauty deserves encouragement and respect. It is so much fun to see confidence and joy on an artist's face as they explore and create".
