- All Participants (2 minimum. ie. Parent/Guardian + Kid) must register for the class.
Week 1: Concept & Visual Direction
We begin by building the idea. Students will explore themes, mood, and narrative—what story does your “album” tell? Through mood boards and reference gathering, you’ll define tone, color palette, and genre influences. We’ll also cover composition, typography considerations, and how album covers communicate identity at a glance.
Week 2: Styling & The Photo Shoot
Bring your concept to life. Learn how wardrobe, props, and location shape the image, with an emphasis on authentic parent/child interaction. We’ll cover directing subjects, working with natural and/or studio light, and creating dynamic, expressive poses. Students will participate in a guided shoot to capture the core image for their cover.
Week 3: Post-Production & Final Design
Transform your photograph into a finished album cover. This session focuses on editing for mood and cohesion—color grading, contrast, and retouching—along with integrating text and graphic elements. We’ll discuss layout, typography, and preparing your final image for print and digital formats.
What You’ll Leave With:
- A completed, high-quality album cover featuring your concept
- A deeper understanding of storytelling through photography
- Practical experience in styling, directing, and editing
- A repeatable creative workflow from idea to final product
Perfect for photographers, creatives, and families looking to collaborate on something unique, this class celebrates both artistic expression and personal connection.
