Lightroom in a Day provides a clear, hands-on introduction to Adobe Lightroom, empowering you to take control of your image library and elevate your photography through efficient editing techniques. Students will learn how to import, organize, and manage their photo collections using Lightroom’s powerful catalog system. We’ll explore keywording, rating, and sorting strategies that help you quickly find and curate your best work—an essential skill for both hobbyists and professionals.
On the editing side, the class will cover the fundamentals of non-destructive photo editing, including exposure adjustments, color correction, cropping, and basic retouching. You’ll gain a solid understanding of Lightroom’s Develop module and learn how to enhance your images while maintaining a natural, polished look.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a streamlined workflow for importing, organizing, editing, and exporting your images—saving you time and helping you produce consistent, high-quality results.
What to Bring:

C. Stephen Hurst recently moved to Winston-Salem from New York City where he spent many years as a professional photographer and instructor at the International School of Photography. Hurst is a self-taught photographer who emphasizes connection, anticipation, and communication through his process; some of Hurst’s photography clients have included the Disney Family Foundation, Nike, and Columbia Business School.
