Indigo Dyeing: Dig, Dip and Sip

Workshop - Textiles | Available

Join Sawtooth Director of Textiles, Betsy Messick, in this unique offering in conjunction with Wake Forest University students from their Chemistry:  Fibers & Dye class!  Participants will hear from Wake students about the ancient art of Indigo Dyeing while they "sip" on coffee or tea from Generations Center Partner Black Coffee & Cuisine.  We will then move to our Mixed Media Studio where we will prepare a cotton bandana and a silk scarf for our "dip" in the Indigo vats.  Finally, participants will move out to our new Natural Dye Garden to "dig", adding to our new space.  Participants will also receive their own Indigo plant to take home.  All supplies included.  Ages 10 and up.
