Relief Printing with Lino Blocks

Class - Printmaking | Available

Linocut printing involves carving into a linoleum block, then inking and printing the raised, uncarved surfaces. When you press the carved, inked block face down onto paper, the image prints in reverse, appearing as a mirror of your original design. The areas you remove do not receive ink and therefore remain the white of the paper.

Discover the diverse possibilities of mark-making in this introductory printmaking course using linoleum blocks—a medium that’s both beginner-friendly and detail-oriented. We’ll cover portraiture, landscapes, and monoprint techniques. Learn, explore, and create through hands-on printmaking!

We will provide supplies and tools, but you are welcome to bring your own carving tools from home.
