9344. Handling a Knife
Workshop - Wood | Registration opens 2/10/2026 9:00 AM EST
Using hand tools and simple, accessible methods, we will make a carving/shop knife from high carbon steel with a hardwood handle. Basic tools like hacksaws, files, and sandpaper will give us our form, then a simple heat treatment will harden the blades into fine tools. We'll set the blades in a hardwood handle and shape it to fit our hands and our work. No experience is necessary, just be ready to get a little dirty.
Additional Information:
- A material fee of $25 will be added at registration
- Registration will close one week prior to the start of class
- Class will break for lunch around midday, both days.
- Enrollment is open to students age 18+
