Art History Flavor: The Organic Style of Georgia O'Keefe
Art + Wellness | Registration opens 2/10/2026 9:00 AM EST
In this 5 week class we will look at several works by O’Keefe as well as close up images of flowers in hopes of replicating the layering of color to achieve the delicate opaqueness of petal forms or movement in a landscape. We will first use different types of paper to achieve this effect; then we will transition to acrylic paint and experiment with viscosity. The instructor will provide images for inspiration. Beginners in painting are welcome! Ages 14 and up.

Bryn Lenkaitis Childers
Bryn Lenkaitis is a Pennsylvania native who fell in love with the people and places of North Carolina and decided to make it home about 4 years ago. She has a BA in Art History and Studio Art from IUP where she was given the opportunity to study in both Croatia and Spain – most memorable being her experience backpacking the El Camino de Santiago across Northern Spain.
When she’s not working as a Philanthropic Project Specialist aiding in the fundraising efforts for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Bryn creates art mainly in acrylics and oils but also experiments with ink and mixed media. Her artwork explores the use of bold color and texture to bring to life both the beautiful adventures and day-to-day places she inhabits. In doing so, she can put down roots in the rich soil of each new community she finds herself in and preserve the transient landscapes along the way that bring her immense joy.
