This is an introductory glass class featuring a cute tiny teddy bear as your project! Join instructor Nicholas Christensen in this relaxed atmosphere where you'll create your own glass teddy bear figurines using the torch flame! The class will cover proper usage of a bench top torch and borosilicate glass. Repeat students are welcome. Equipment and materials are provided. Class size is limited!
Nicholas Christensen
Nicholas Christensen, born and raised in Milwaukee, Wi, received his BFA, along with a Bachelors in Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin Madison in 2022. During his time as a BFA candidate, he focused on glassblowing, and mixed media kinetic sculpture, exploring fiber arts, wood, plasterwork, and robotics. He has worked through the Milwaukee Art Museum, as an art counselor at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, and as a production Flameworker. In May of 2024, Nicholas was a glassblowing intern for the Starworks Arts nonprofit, and, immediately following this, was the Resident glassblowing studio artist at Salem Art Works in Salem, New York. He currently lives in Winston-Salem, NC, working as a glassblowing instructor and woodworker.
