Make + Use Your Sketchbook

Class - Graphics 2D | Available

Explore the relevance and different types of sketchbook use in today's world. A brief introduction to how to use, care for, and work with sketchbooks both inside and outside of the studio. Start with various sketchbook examples and how other artists utilize them, focusing on different approaches to the 'sketchbook.'

Learn how to use a sketchbook for drawing from life, noting ideas for projects, and overcoming common pitfalls and fears. The workshop will also explore the sketchbook as an art form in itself and as a part of the creative process. I will showcase examples from my own sketchbooks and how they've contributed to my work. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to create their own Stab-bound sketchbook as part of the course.

Bring your sketchbook and favorite mediums (pencils, colored pencils, watercolor, etc)!
