Warm Weaving: Focus on Wooly Yarns

Class - Textiles | Available

Warm Weaving: Focus on Wooly Yarns will encourage students to focus on incorporating textured into their weavings.  Fibers have different qualities - cotton is bright, strong and forgiving;  linen is strong with a sheen;  wool is fluffy, stretchy and fulls to be soft and snuggly.  These wool yarns are perfect for a loose winter wrap, or firmly felted and solid enough for a kilt! Students can choose to add patterns to create an heirloom blanket.

This intense weekend workshop is for the adventurous level 2 beginner: previous weaving experience is necessary, as wearable wool requires a gentle beat.  *** Please note:  class will meet on Thursday and Friday evenings from 6 - 8 pm, then on Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm.

All supplies will be included, but students may wish to bring their own yarn for a larger variety of choices.  Ages 14 and up.
