Darling Doll Workshop
Workshop - Textiles | Available
Chase away the winter blahs by devising a Darling Doll with artist Elizabeth Klaimon. In this workshop, we will explore basic doll making techniques for creating a unique one of a kind stump doll. We will experiment with making expressive faces, designing a reusable doll pattern, adding embellishments for effect, and stuffing and weighting the doll so that she sits firmly upright. We will practice “slow stitching” and basic hand sewing methods to help us stay in the moment and enjoy the creative process. Finished Darling Dolls make perfect companions for book shelves, dressers, or tabletops.
Doll making is a journey and reflection is built into the process with expressive journaling. Basic supplies will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring in fabric remnants and other items to embellish their doll and truly make it their own. Ages 14 and up.
