This class is available to students who have taken at least 1 Intermediate Wheel Throwing class at Sawtooth. If you have prior experience from a different studio, please contact the Director of Ceramics for approval.

Focussing on wheel throwing with some handbuilding components, this studio class is for individuals who feel comfortable with the fundamentals of wheel throwing and are eager to improve their skills. Creative exploration will be encouraged through demonstration and critiques. Ages: 16 - Adult

A $30 material fee for the first 25 pounds of stoneware clay and related glazing and firing will be added at time of checkout.

  • Students enrolled in ceramics classes may come in for additional open studio hours for the duration of their class.
  • A $30 material fee for the first 25 pounds of stoneware clay and related glazing and firing will be added at time of checkout. Porcelain clay excluded.

    For the first day of class, you will need the following:
    • 1 old towel and/or apron
    • 1 large car wash sponge
    • 1 4-quart container to hold water
    • 1 pottery tool kit (available for purchase on the first day of class for $20)
Campbell, Dodie

Dodie graduated with a BFA in ceramics from Utah State University and an MFA in ceramics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She has been teaching beginning and advanced wheelthrowing at Sawtooth since 2006. When not running or driving her kids around town, you may find her in the studio stamping, carving, or drawing on the surface of her pots.
