Sawtooth School for Visual Arts and Catbird on the Yadkin Press invite you to Celebrate Public Domain Day 2024! 

Prior to the start of the event, please join us at 4pm for a reception to celebrate the Sawtooth Print Group Exhibition in the Davis Gallery, on view from from Jan 27- March 2, 2024.

Good Impressions: Readings from the Press Bed returns for the first reading of the year. Returning again to talk about public domain is Megan Mulder, Special Collections Librarian at Wake Forest University.


This year we also welcome Mary Beth Boone of the imprint Purple Pumpkin Press. Mary Beth Boone is a book artist, Sawtooth instructor, and letterpress printer living in Greensboro, N.C. Mary Beth Boone has been making books for over thirty-five years. Her work was included in 1000 Artists' Books and 500 Handmade Books volume 2. Her work resides in both private and public collections.

At the end of the evening, you will crank the press and leave with your own handprinted hand signed broadside.

Terry Schupbach-Gordon is an artist, storyteller, puppeteer, co-director of Catbird Press, and advocate for disability issues. Working in printmaking, drawing, and artists’ books, Terry’s work is held in many public and private collections. She regularly gives collaborative workshops celebrating book arts, poetry, and literacy. She holds an MFA from Indiana University and currently lives and works in North Carolina.
