Beginning with a big chuck of a tree, use the bare minimum of hand tools to reduce it to a primitive weapon. Carve into generations of knowledge, techniques and skills with master bowyer, Dane Snodgrass. The class is open to students ages 14 and up. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.

Students will need to come prepared with a hatchet, a four-way shoe rasp, and an old hunting knife.

Snodgrass, Dane

Dane Snodgrass is recently retired and trying to live up to expectations. He is an acclaimed master bowyer having made over 1000 bows over the last 60 years. Dane prefers working with hand tools and traditional designs. He draws most inspiration from our North American 1st Nation and leans toward bows of the Northern Plains. Dane grew up in South Dakota.
