829. Drawing Foundations (9-15 years)

This class uses a step-by-step approach that guides you through the foundations of drawing. Emphasizing exercises based on both traditional and innovative techniques, the focus will be on elements that are vital to any artist: composition, line, shape, value, and perspective. Through a series of projects, students strengthen their skills using a variety of media, including pencils, pens, and charcoal.
Jonathan Dockery
Jonathan Dockery is an artist working in Winston Salem. He studied art at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He began his career as a concept and storyboard artist working in Los Angeles and in San Francisco, but has more recently begun focusing on his oil painting. He now teaches drawing, painting, and digital arts, focusing on the various classical and digital techniques of his training.
