Hollywood musicals had a resurgence during the late 20th and early 21st century including animated and live action films. Through discussion and film clips, we'll explore this phenomenon with movies such as "Hercules", "Anastasia", "Mulan", "Prince of Egypt", "Moulin Rouge", etc. Composers include Alan Menken, Stephen Flaherty, Stephen Schwartz, Phil Collins, and others.

Moderator: Doug Iden is a big fan of movies and theatrical musicals with an extensive collection of films and original Broadway scores. He has taught popular classes on Broadway and film at OLLI for many years. He has received OLLI's Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
