4702 **Love in the Poems of Robert Frost

Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 8/18/26 10:00 AM

With classic New England understatement, U.S. Poet Laureate and four-time Pulitzer poet Robert Frost aims his poetic storytelling prowess at love. Despite his down-to-earth public image as a friendly rural poet, his tragic private life was beset by emotional suffering and loss. Loneliness, depression, and guilt led him to believe that love vacillates between duty and desire. His unwavering dedication to his craft helped bring order and meaning to his troubled inner life. We'll read aloud and talk about poems that showcase Frost's understanding of love's mystery and power.
