In this four session workshop, we will make traditional Polish folk art Nativity scenes. These Nativity scenes, called Szopka Krakowska, have added sparkle to the Christmas season in Poland for 100+. Made of cardboard and metallic foil papers and incorporating architectural elements like towers and domes, they range from simple children's creations to exquisite masterpieces. We will make small simple versions to learn the craft. If you observe Jewish holidays instead of Christmas, we can easily tailor the project for Hanukkah.

Moderator: Grace Severyn has taught a variety of hands-on art courses for OLLI. This new class was inspired by a recent trip to Poland in which she fell in love with traditional Polish folk art.
