3000 When Will Autonomous Vehicles Be Available for Everyone?
One-time in-Person | Registration opens 8/1/26 10:00 AM
Broad use of autonomous vehicles has been anticipated for nearly a generation, but it's always been just a few years away. Now ride-share programs such as Waymo have demonstrated that autonomy can work in limited areas. These programs can extend to individually owned and operated vehicles, but the timetable for broad vehicle autonomy is unclear. This course will outline possible paths and milestones to full vehicle autonomy. It's surely coming.
Moderator: Alan Flaherty conducted an OLLI course on electric and autonomous vehicles eight years ago, anticipating wide adoption in just a few years. He's been following their progress ever since, recognizing new obstacles all the way. But real progress has been made.
