Family relationships can be casualties of a toxic political environment, making holiday gatherings places where bitter political arguments take place and family divisions grow worse. This workshop offers a chance to gain a deeper understanding of why family differences over politics are uniquely challenging and teaches strategies and skills for dealing with family political differences in constructive ways. Braver Angels is a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire and equip Americans to practice courageous citizenship across political differences through convening, skill-building, and collaborative action.

Moderator: Mel Cohen, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Miami Univ., is a trained Braver Angels Ambassador and debate chair for Braver Angels, a nonprofit organization focused on the problem of political polarization. Poppy Evans is a retired mental health counselor and trained moderator for Braver Angels.
