2907 Ohio Women's Suffrage Movement and Challenges Voters Face Today

One-time in-Person | Registration opens 8/1/26 10:00 AM

Learn about Ohio’s long history of social reform and women’s rights, recognizing how folks working at the state and local level drove national movements for change, leading to Ohio becoming the fifth state to ratify the 19th Amendment. This class connects Ohio’s history to challenges its voters face today, including voter suppression, The SAVE America Act and other barriers to registering to vote and voting. Learn of current efforts being employed to secure our fundamental right in a democracy—the right to vote.

Moderator: Kimberly Jacobs returns to OLLI after giving a short presentation at the “Suffs” class last winter. She is a long-time member and the former Vice President, Voter Services, for League of Women Voters, Cincinnati Area. She also serves as Vice President of the East Walnut Hills Community Council and is a steering committee member of the local Food Policy Council.
