Humor involving computers has been around since the first computer but really took off in the 1980s when microcomputers became part of everyone’s lives This presentation will examine some of the witty and satirical amusements found in pictures, comics, movies, and words related to the electronic brains that the moderator has found over the years with an examination of how some of the humor has evolved over time.

Moderator: Russell McMahon is an emeritus (2023) professor of Information Technology from UC. In 2024, he joined the Peace Corps as a Response Volunteer, serving as a visiting professor at the Univ. of the Philippines Los Banos. In 2026, he taught at the Universidad Nacional de Itapúa in Encarnacion, Paraguay, as a Fulbright Specialist.
