2108 **Osteoporosis Is More Than a DEXA Score! Let's Talk Prevention and Practice
multi-week ZOOM | Registration opens 8/18/26 10:00 AM
Osteoporosis exists within a web of interconnected conditions and physiological processes. Conditions linked to bone loss includes diabetes, thyroid disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, kidney and liver conditions, autoimmune disorders, eating disorders, and more. Functionally, loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia), poor balance, reduced coordination, inactivity, chronic inflammation, and hormonal changes all intertwine with fracture/fall risk. Fortunately, any condition linked to bone loss is not a sentence—it's information. Let's take a broader view together by paying attention to building muscle and balance through safe, effective movement.
Moderator: Sharon Byrns holds master’s degrees in Health and P E, and in Learning Disabilities. A Yoga Therapist also Certified in “Bones for Life®”, her dedication to teaching falling risk & how to reduce that risk stemmed from the death of her mother who never recovered from a serious fall.
