We will discuss the history of beer and Cincinnati's love of it. Cincinnati was once home to 36 beer barons who influenced much of the life of the city. You can still find the remains of many of the breweries that thrived here before Prohibition. The population of Cincinnati once consumed twice as much beer as any other city in the U.S. We will look at the effect of Prohibition on the German population of Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine and investigate how the brewing industry has changed over the years.
