1101 Golden Age of Recorded Opera Arias—And When Was That?

Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 8/1/26 12:00 AM

In this eight-week course, we will listen to and see (when possible) the most unique interpretations of some of opera’s most beautiful and dramatic moments recorded in the 20th century. Join in for a look at and discussions of how recoded operas changed over the course of time. Who are some of your favorite singers?

Moderator: Eric Williamson's parents were classically trained musicians, but he was not introduced to opera until his mother’s second husband (an Italian-American) presented the music of Verdi and Puccini to him through the artistry of Maria Callas and Giuseppe Di Stefano. He was hooked! It was the beginning of a never-ending search for the best vocal recordings of opera.
