Cincinnati artist Edie McKee Harper (1922–2010) developed a distinctive modernist vision across a wide variety of media over her 60-year career. The Taft Museum of Art has organized the first museum show—on view Oct 17-Jan 24—presenting her work on its own terms. Harper mastered photography, weaving, screen-printing, painting, and enameling, imbuing each artwork with her unique sense of abstraction and playful spirit. Tegan Recker, Research Fellow for the exhibition, will trace the evolution of Harper’s career, revealing a creative life infused with wit, whimsy, and wonder.
