In the study of world religions, the usual approach emphasizes how each religion interprets and understands ultimate reality (with ethical teachings and rituals stemming therefrom). In the present class, we will consider instead the common human experiences that both initiate and sustain all genuine religious beliefs and spirituality.

Moderator: Don Maloney taught psychology, philosophy, and religion for Univ. of Maryland at US military bases in Europe and Asia. He has also taught at several stateside universities, most recently XU. After receiving his master’s from Gonzaga Univ., he did post-graduate study at Boston College and at universities in France and Germany. He was previously an OLLI instructor in Denver. He is a recipient of OLLI's Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
