Biblical scholars have abandoned a literal interpretation of the Gospels. Two Catholic priests have recently published books on the topic. Ray Brown was professor at the Union Theological Seminary, and John Meier was professor at the School of Theology at Notre Dame. You will receive excerpts from their writings, which will inform our class discussions.
