Original Hollywood musicals lost their luster in the latter 20th century but there were still some significant films leading to the resurgence in the early 2000s. Through discussion and film clips, we'll continue our journey through Hollywood musicals. Composers include Henry Mancini, Michael Gore, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, etc. Films include "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "Sister Act", "Aladdin", "The Lion King" and "Toy Story".

Moderator: Doug Iden is a big fan of movies and theatrical musicals with an extensive collection of films and original Broadway scores. He has taught classes on Broadway and film at OLLI for several years. He has received OLLI's Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
