**4712 Forgotten Exodus: Jews of the Middle East and North Africa

Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 3/31/26 10:00 AM

This course will explore the history, culture, liturgy, and music of the Jewish Diaspora of the Middle East and North Africa. The intent of the course will be to begin a familiarity to these non-European communities, their connections to each other, and their connections with other Jewish communities in the Diaspora. It will also look at the relationship between the Jewish communities and the population within which they dwelled.

Moderator: Paul Evers has been teaching a course on Jewish music for a number of years. This has led to a deepening interest in Diaspora communities in various regions. He does not claim an historian's expertise, but that of a well-read history buff.
