Step into the glittering world of ancient Egypt! In this visual journey, Howie Baum will explore golden treasures worn by pharaohs alongside everyday adornments of common Egyptians—workers, farmers, and scribes. Discover how clothing and jewelry revealed beliefs and social status across all levels of society. We’ll examine elaborate royal crowns and simple amulets, fine linen garments and working-class dress, grand temple sculptures and humble household objects. Learn what made Egyptian craftsmanship legendary, from the palace to the village. He has received OLLI’s Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
