**2708 Flash Photography for Digital SLR and Mirrorless SLR Cameras
Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 3/31/26 10:00 AM
Use electronic flash as a light source with a DSLR/mirrorless camera to creatively control lighting in your photography. This class will include challenging assignments covering basic to intermediate approaches to successful flash photography paired with classroom presentation of instructional and background material. You will shoot assignments on your own time with your own equipment and present your work for discussion in class. Assignments will include portraiture, still life, and macro photography. No prior experience with flash photography necessary, but a good working knowledge of your camera is essential.
Moderator: Kieran Daly has close to 50 years’ experience as an amateur photographer. He co-moderated (with Howard Jackson) the Photography Workshop class at OLLI since fall 2023, during which a need for a flash photography class became apparent. Kieran taught himself how to use flash and is ready to share it with the OLLI platform.
