We will explore life on the Ohio River experienced by Native Americans, Anglo explorers, African Americans, and Irish, Jewish, and German immigrants. Why did they come to Cincinnati? What impact did the people on the river before them have on the lives of those just arriving? What impact did new arrivals have on the people already living on the river? How did their lives shape our river city? Time will be allotted for discussion. Insights on Colin Woodard's American Nations are welcome.
