1981 IN-PERSON UC's Contribution to the Development of Computing

This presentation will look at the history of computing and examine the contributions of faculty, staff, and alumni from UC. Bearcats have been involved in computing since the early days of computers. This presentation is based on interviews and research done nearly 20 years ago. It will also look at the human side of some of the individuals.

Moderator: Russell McMahon is a Professor Emeritus from UC’s School of IT where he taught and served as the undergraduate coordinator. In 2022 he served as a Fulbright Scholar in Uzbekistan. In 2024, he joined the Peace Corps as a Response Volunteer, serving as a visiting professor at the Univ. of the Philippines Los Banos.
