1541 Family Dynamics in Shakespeare’s Pericles and Relevance to Our Lives Today

Multi-week in-person | Available

Shakespeare’s understanding of human nature is without peer. Sigmund Freud credits the Bard with understanding the unconscious mind before psychoanalysis. Using Freud’s theories, guests from Cincinnati Shakespeare, and video clips, we will explore character motivation in Pericles. You will have the opportunity to attend a performance by Cincinnati Shakespeare. The five classes will focus on pivotal scenes that give us a chance to reflect on our own interactions as well as those of others both in our lives and those on the world stage.
