Through discussion and film clips, we'll follow musicals which originated in London or Europe and gravitated to New York stages. Composers include Eric Idle, Oliver Bart, ABBA, Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and others. Shows include "The Boyfriend", "Oliver", "Chess", "Evita", "Les Miz", "Miss Saigon," and "Phantom of the Opera"'
Moderator: Doug Iden is a big fan of movies and theatrical musicals with an extensive collection of films and original Broadway scores. He has taught classes on Broadway and film at OLLI for several years. He is a recipient of OLLI's Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
