We will discuss the following works of short fiction. “The Necklace,” Guy de Maupassant; “Interpreter of Maladies,” Jhumpa Lahiri; “The Nightingale and the Rose,” Oscar Wilde; “Kew Gardens” and “A Haunted House,” Virginia Woolf; The Queen of Spades, Alexander Pushkin (novella); “How Much Land Does a Man Need?" Leo Tolstoy; “White Nights," Fyodor Dostoyevsky; “Cathedral,” Raymond Carver; “Tenth of December” George Sanders; The Land in Winter, Andrew Miller (novel); and a “tour" of poetry by Chaucer, Shakespeare, T. S. Eliott, Brooks, Dove, and others. Discuss, listen, enjoy!
