multi-week ZOOM | Registration opens 1/6/26 10:00 AM
Classical music has been with us for centuries. While there are many modern and contemporary styles of music that have developed, some composers have chosen to specialize in film scores. This course will present the evolution of films and film music. We will discuss the various styles of this genre and the composers who are responsible. This multimedia presentation will feature more than 125 video clips from dozens of movies. It will be both informative and entertaining.
Moderator: Lee Kaufman has taught many continuing education music courses at St. Louis area junior colleges, OLLI, Chautauqua Institute, and several school district programs. He is currently secretary of the North American Chapter of the Elgar Society and has co-produced with Hershey Felder the following plays with music: George Gershwin Alone, Monsieur Chopin, and Beethoven As I Knew Him.
