2325 French 2 for the Fun of It: Wading More Deeply Into the Language
Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 1/6/26 10:00 AM
Everyone is welcome, but this course is designed for those who have taken Rick’s popular course “French for the Fun of It” and want to expand their knowledge. Interacting with colorful resources like toys, dioramas of historic events and humorous stories, you will wade into French more deeply. We will read aloud and study simple stories, poems, and song lyrics. Through improvised guided dialogues, you also will learn how to interact with Francophones, including strangers, hotel receptionists, waiters, and anyone who might know where "les toilets" are located.
Moderator: Rick Sowash, who is of French descent ("Sowash" is an Americanization of the French name “Sauvage”), is a classical composer and the author of eight books. He is a former part-time teacher of French and other subjects at Leaves of Learning, a Cincinnati alternative school. He and his wife of 53 years have visited every region of the country. He is recipient of OLLI's Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
