1532 Exploring the Foundation of Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center
Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 1/6/26 10:00 AM
This FOUR-week course surveys the formative years of the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) in Cincinnati. This first course (in a possible series) will focus on the period during which three well-educated young-women founded Cincinnati’s Modern Art Society (MAC) in 1939. Their socio-economic backgrounds, educations, and religious heritages will be explored. As will their first-hand, up-front exposure to the origins of pre-war modern American and European art and state sponsorship.
Moderator: Steve Albert has had a varied career in tax, immigration law, and healthcare staffing. He has had the opportunity to explore art museums and theater performances throughout the world. He has a BBA and JD from Univ. of Wisconsin (Madison).
