Divorce, separation, and single-parenting do not carry the same stigma as when we were young; however, the consequences have not changed. Psychologist John Berrens will explore some of the issues commonly experienced by children in these situations. We will discuss common childhood reactions, differences depending on the age of the child, and circumstances surrounding the breakup. We hope to explore techniques and strategies which adult caregivers might use to support the emotional growth of young people in difficult family situations.
