1032 Great Literature

multi-week ZOOM | Registration opens 1/6/26 10:00 AM

We'll read these novels: "The Beginning of Spring" By Penelope Fitzgerald; "Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro; "What We Can Know" by Ian McEwan; "and Prophet Song" by Paul Lynch (Dayton Prize Winner). Some important portions of great (and loooong) works: a chapter from "The Grand Inquisitor" by Dostoevsky and the last chapter of Proust's "In Search of Lost Time." A short story :"Stop 'n' Go" by Michael Parker. We'll also look at some poetry as suggested by the class.

Moderator: John Briggs has taught many OLLI courses, almost all with survivors. He believes he IS NOT "The Professor," and that the classes are for enjoyment. Read what you want, come when you want; remain silent, talk a lot.
