3039 Roles and Implications of Government Funding of University Research
One-time in-Person | Registration opens 8/26/25 10:00 AM
An overview of the interactions between government funders and universities including which agencies fund what types of research. Learn why grants are given to the institution not the researcher, what that means, and how that is implemented. We'll start with a high level overview of how that funding is obtained and the obligations that come with funding, and then do a deeper dive with more specific examples. There will be time to answer questions you may have about the academic research enterprise.
